Megan Maczko is an award-winning writer-director and a critically acclaimed actress. Drawing on her experience of being born outside Detroit and growing into a filmmaker in Europe, she brings a boldly stylish directorial voice to her nuanced, character-driven work.

Megan’s first short film The In-Between is currently being distributed internationally by Gonella Productions. The film is also a prologue to a feature length script in development entitled Exposure. Based on a true story of horrific events that took place in northern Michigan in the 1970’s, Exposure is a conspiracy thriller that reveals how privilege enabled a network of powerful men to commit some of the country’s darkest transgressions against children and the lasting impact on the families it destroyed.

Megan’s second project as a writer/director was with award-winning dark comedy series Going Down: The 7 Deadly Sins of the Office Christmas Party. The series made exclusively for Instagram has received over 500k views, as well as named “.

She recently completed her third short film Fjällnäs. Commissioned by the Alpine Fellowship, Fjällnäs is an ambitious satire set at a bougie symposium in remote Sweden about identity, hypocrisy and single-use plastic.
