Natalie Malla is an award winning writer and director for film and TV. Passionate about telling female driven stories she is committed to bringing interesting, funny, complex women to the screen. Natalie is currently working towards her feature film directorial debut, and also has writing projects in development with Bird Flight Films, Fred Films, Mighty Village and Blue Penguin TV.

Natalie’s latest short film I Am A Unicorn has just started its film festival journey, screening at Exit 6 Film Festival and This Is England. Her short films, The Girl In The Dress, Killing Thyme, Crush Hour and Mairi have screened at multiple festivals worldwide, receiving awards and nominations including Best Writer at Underwire 2016, an Award of Excellence at the One Reeler Online Film Festival in LA, Best Short and Best of Festival at Carmarthen Bay 2016 and the Audience Award at Austin 2016.
Natalie has been a finalist in the Funny Women Comedy Writing Awards, shortlisted for the Funny Women Web Series Award, long-listed for the ERA 5050 Tell Her Vision comedy writing initiative and the Shortcom Sitcom competition and is an alumna of the Bafta Rocliffe New Drama Writing Forum and Channel Four Screenwriting Course.
