Elizabeth Parikh

Elizabeth Parikh is a writer for TV and Radio.
Originally from South Shields, Elizabeth grew up in Blackpool, Lancashire and later worked at the seaside resort as a Police Constable. She later moved into teaching religion, philosophy and ethics and has taught across the UK.
Elizabeth’s first audio drama I HEART AMY was produced by The Wireless Theatre Company alongside the kind help of the U.K. charity WAY (Widowed And Young). Her four-part crime drama OMEGA was Elizabeth’s second produced audio drama with The Wireless Theatre Company.
Elizabeth is a member of ITV Comedy 50:50, a member of the writers’ pool for BBC Scotland’s topical comedy Breaking The News, and has written comedy sketches across BBC TV and Radio including FUNC, for TV, Series 1 & 2, and Sketchtopia, for Radio, Series 1 & 2.
The Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds screened Elizabeth’s first short film The Natural Room which was inspired by the 1966 Sci-Fi novel Make Room. The film script was commissioned by The Northern Film School and led to a further four NFS commissions.
In theatre Elizabeth’s short play Daughter’s New Bloke was performed (rehearsed reading) at Pleasance Theatre, Islington.  Elizabeth has also co-written numerous comedies for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has worked for five years as a script reader for The Library Theatre, Manchester.
Elizabeth has worked at BBC’s Holby City as a script researcher and has completed training in TV drama storylining with Lime Pictures’ Hollyoaks, and ITV’s Coronation Street. She most recently completed episodes of the second series of Moonbugs, Little Baby Bum: Time to Dream, for Audible.
