Annabel Wigoder

Annabel Wigoder is a writer for film, TV & theatre with a particular interest in female-led stories exploring social/political issues through a genre lens. Her work has been shortlisted for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Competition 2023, longlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, and reached the Top 10 of the 2023 Final Draft Big Break contest (horror/thriller category). She has written seven episodes of BBC1’s medical drama Doctors, alongside an adaptation of the Lewis Carroll poem ‘The Hunting of the Snark’ for Alice House Theatre, which started life at the Edinburgh Fringe before being picked up by RGM Productions (‘The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’) for a summer on the West End, runs in Cardiff and Hong Kong, and tours around the UK and Australia, including shows at the Sydney Opera House. She is a graduate of the Royal Court Young Writers Programme and invite-only Studio Group, and her plays have been performed at Soho Theatre, the Old Red Lion and Southwark Playhouse. Additionally, Annabel is an experienced producer who has been selected as ‘One to Watch’ by the Edinburgh International TV Festival and nominated for a Grierson Trust Award (Best Entertaining Documentary, 2022). She has developed scripted projects with Channel 4, the BFI and Creative Scotland, and has credits across high end documentaries and docu series for Netflix, Amazon, NBCUniversal, Sky, the BBC and Disney+
